God Be With You Til We Meet Again

A song sung at every GOOD BYE I know of...for Christians!

The writer obviously wanted to have joy in knowing that GOD was going with those departing our fellowship...and that by FAITH, we KNOW, we SHALL see one another again..here or in the air!

What PEACE and COMFORT it is to be SAVED and know the LORD JESUS CHRIST as one's personal SAVIOUR! I wouldn't trade my place with anyone! To REST in the LORD and HIS PROMISES..is the greatest life there is.

My daughter and her children left the other day...farewell..FARE YE WELL!!

So many PRAYERS ANSWERED...one prayer answered..the NEED changed and IMMEDIATELY it was ANSWERED..but then once again..the NEED changed and AGAIN..the prayer was answered.

GOD KNEW...the need. What joy and comfort it gave me..as a MOM to see MY GOD so quickly intervene in the needs of my child. It gave her confidence in her journey. The unknowns can be so scary...so unsettling. But, with GOD..our comfort lies in RESTING IN HIM.

How loving he is to give us glimpses of his care...whether it be an immediate answer to prayer...or a timely call...or timely hug..ALL TIMELY.

So with this post...let me share this song:

God be with you will we meet again..
By HIS councils guide, uphold you
With His sheep securely fold you

God be with you till we meet again
'Neath His wings protecting hide you
Daily manna still provide you
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again
When life's perils thick confound you
Put His arms around you..
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again
Keep love's banner floating o'er you
Smite death's threat'ning waves before you
God be with you till we meet again.

Chorus:
God be with you will we meet again..Till we meet again
till we meet, Till we meet at Jesus Feet,
Till we meet, till we meet..God be with you till we meet again.

Jeremiah E. Rankin 1828-1904

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 16:11

I love you ...my family..God Be With You!

Blogging has put me in touch with so many women like us who have had to say goodbyes to our kids as they head far away. I just talked to mine in Japan tonight on SKYPE; she with her morning coffee and me yawning and preparing for sleep! :D
Three years is a long time. Don't know where they might go after that. Only 2 and they live far away. That was a surprise God had to help me with. But He does. And He answers our prayers and supplies needs. Thanks for sharing that.

Such a blessing to know that the Lord provides us comfort in many times of need. I know that your heart is aching for the absence of your children (and grandchildren)....though I've only got a glimpse of what you must feel, I can only begin to imagine what that must feel like. What a gift it was that you were able to spend some extra and unexpected time with them before their departure. At least you know they are departing in the best way possible...Saved with the Lord in their command. What comfort that must bring you! By the way...I LOVE this picture!

So great to see God's hand in everything and know He is never taken by surprise! It is so comforting as well to know that no matter how far away our children may be, God is there. Great thoughts!

We used to sing this song at a little country church we used to attend.

This also makes me think of an Uncle that has long passed--a Christian. When we left his home, he would refuse to say 'Good-bye', instead he would say, 'see you later'. Good-bye is too final and too sad! For the Christian, we will see other Christians later on in heaven, no many how many times we 'depart' from each other here on earth. That is the hope and promise and JOY (like them caps, HOPE?) that we have.

Another observation: those two little girls... in both photos their heads are tilted... the boys, not. It just had me thinking about their personalities. Are the girls more sensitive? The boys more confident?

Til we meet again, HOPE!

P.S. were there tears waiting behind that smile? Mine would be. May God wrap his loving and caring arms around you! He knows our aches.
